Actually, this isn't OOC for him at all. In the books, Pitch was originally the one responsible for keeping Nightmares AWAY. Not necessarily providing good dreams but just making sure that nightmares didn't get through. It was all actually rather tragic so, going from his 'younger self' actually, this seems perfectly in character to me! 8D
