Nyarlathotep is the first deity created by H.P Lovecraft and the most recurrent in his tales. He appears for the first time in 1920, in a short story with the same name that the author considered just a draft. Before Nyarlathotep comes to life, HPL had used myths and legends from our world, like Dagon which was an Assyro-babylonian god. Nyarla is also the only god from his pantheon not trapped at the corners of space and free to travel everywhere he wants, appearing in human shape to his cultists. He has at least thousand other forms, either monstrous and human-like.
This quick study represent the ethereal essence that hides under his masks. I've thought hard about how to describe the transition between his avatars... my first idea included a sort of rubber mask that he was supposed to tear off from his face revealing a skull with fiendish features. It was quite cool and creepy, but not that lovecraftian (was "in my style", if you let me say it X3). Soooo at the end I choose the second idea in which he has no face to reveal. In this case the mask isn't soft, feels like it's made of porcelain and fits the heart-shape of his face, delimited by the hairline. It detaches with a nice CLICK! X3

I wish also to use this post to announce that Nyarla will get lots of space in the comic ( much MUCH more than Cthulhu! ) and that I'm going to take for granted many of my headcanons... which means he will be OOC in many situations X3
