Some months ago, a friend of mine bought the new Nintendo 3DS XL and gave me his old console since he wasn't going to use it anymore. I never been a Nintendo fan (except maybe for the Pokèmon videogames, which are not a good enough reason to buy a whole new console, at least not for me) but the brand now has the exclusive of one of my favorite franchises, Monster Hunter, and actually got some pretty interesting titles such as Shin Megami Tensei IV and some rather silly -but fun!- spin-offs of the Persona Series.
But of course, I'm not here to talk about poket monsters or giant dinosaurs to strike down with a even more giant crossbow, I'm here to spread Lovecraftian love as I usually do, so let's move on to the gist.
I was at my local Game Stop a couple of days ago and I picked up their game magazine. A picture in the 3DS section immediately caught my attention ---> LINK
My first thought was 'OMG this guy totally looks like Randolph Carter' °_° and then, reading through the article, he actually turned out TO BE Randolph Carter. The concept of the game itself sounds crazy and really appeals to my taste, being all steam punkish, action-packed and filled with crazy awesome stuff such as President Abraham Lincoln piloting a steam-powered mech version of himself or Tam Sawyer, Tiger Lily and the Coward Lion teaming up to fight against huge tentacle monsters (that are probably the only reason why RC has been included, lol).
The game's title is Code Name S.T.E.A.M and it's already available in the USA (of couse it is! We can't keep Mr.Lincoln wait!) and in Japan while it will be released in Europe on the 15th of May, which makes it a perfect gift for my birthday *mwhahahah*
Also, am I the only one who feels somehow heartwarmed by knowing that Carter has been recognised as a major character in literature (by a Nintendo game XD)? Of couse, he was already part of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, or at least, their temporary ally, along with his not-so-clearly related 'cousin' John Carter -yes, the one 'From Mars'. Blame Alan Moore for this, not me!- and already made a cameo in Shin Megami Tensei 2 as Swami Chandraputra along with Lieutenant Zula -who's basically 'Captain Kitty' as, Dark-Precipice would say-... but both The League and the MegaTen series are intended for an audience that is most likely already familiar with HPL's works while Code Name S.T.E.A.M is clearly a product for... well, everyone.
In addition, I think he looks surprisingly good as a redhead (lol) and he is voiced by James Urbaniak who may be familiar to those of you who whatch Adult Swim's 'Venture Bros' since he plays Dr. Venture and a bunch of other characters in the show. And for those of you who don't watch Venture Bros... do it. It's hilarious and has several Lovecraftian references.
If you own a 3DS and wish to try the game, a demo has just been released on the Nintendo E-Shop.
Thanks for reading, guys!

FULL Eldritch Tarot Deck Kickstarter launch!
It took us almost 3 years... but the highly requested FULL ELDRITCH TAROT DECK is finally here :)
Working on the new card is what kept me busy in the past months... and there's even more to come, including exclusive artwork for the backers of the previous Kickstarter, a lovely Cthulhu Idol, a deck box and hand-made tarot bag.
Once we're done with this, Lovely Lovecraft will get back on track and update regularly again TOT I can't tell you how much I wanted to get back to work on the comic but the cards took a lot of time!
As usual, thank you for your support and patience :3 and I hope you have a great day!
- Sara

oh oh oh! anche io sono un veterano del 3ds. Ed un fan dei giochi della serie Shin megami tensei, in particolare Persona!
In questo periodo sto giocando "Persona Q shadow of the labirinth"
Gli ultimi disegni che ho fatto in effetti ne sono ispirati.
Ero interessato a monster hunter ma non so bene come sia davvero.
